One thing that amazes me is, every week, I come across the question, “how effective is Facebook advertising?” and then I see an almost immediate fury of replies from other business owners telling them horror stories, that it’s a waste of time and money.
So on the surface that seems like the truth, but when you really give it some thought you have to ask yourself is Facebook running some elaborate money-making scheme designed to fool everyone with ads that will never work? Or is it more likely that people that didn’t fully understand how Facebook ads worked and tried it and due to their lack of knowledge they failed and are now passing their negativity on to you?
When you consider that over 3 million businesses advertise on Facebook, and almost 3 billion dollars spent I tend to think the latter is most likely true.
The Upside for Most Businesses
The pricing structure for Facebook ads is very industry specific, for example, a b2b demographic is rather expensive. Fortunately for most businesses at this minute, the cost is reasonably low for the reward.
